SEO Specialist
About the Role
We're looking for an SEO Specialist to help CheckIPO reach more retail investors searching for IPO information online. Our platform ranks for hundreds of IPO-related keywords, but there's significant untapped opportunity to dominate high-intent searches like "IPO GMP today", "IPO allotment status", and "[company name] IPO review".
You'll own our SEO strategy end-to-end — from technical audits and keyword research to content briefs and link building. You'll work closely with our Content Director and Frontend Engineer to ensure every new page is optimized for search from day one.
This is a measurable, high-impact role. You'll have access to Google Search Console, Analytics, and SEO tools, and you'll be evaluated on organic traffic growth, keyword rankings, and conversion from organic search to engaged users.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and execute a comprehensive SEO strategy to grow organic traffic from current 50,000 to 150,000+ monthly visitors within 18 months
- Conduct thorough keyword research for IPO-related searches, identifying high-volume, achievable opportunities
- Perform regular technical SEO audits: site speed, crawlability, mobile usability, Core Web Vitals
- Create detailed SEO content briefs for the Content team based on keyword analysis and SERP intent
- Implement and optimize structured data markup (JSON-LD) for IPO pages, financial tables, and FAQs
- Build high-quality backlinks through outreach to finance blogs, news portals, and investor communities
- Monitor and report on SEO performance using Google Search Console, Google Analytics, and Ahrefs/SEMrush
- Stay updated on Google algorithm changes and adapt the strategy accordingly
Requirements
Must-Have
- 3+ years of SEO experience with proven track record of growing organic traffic
- Proficiency with SEO tools: Ahrefs, SEMrush, Google Search Console, Screaming Frog
- Strong understanding of technical SEO: crawling, indexing, Core Web Vitals, schema markup
- Experience with content-driven SEO strategy and working with content teams
- Analytical mindset — comfortable working with data to measure and report results
- Understanding of E-E-A-T signals, especially for YMYL (finance/investment) content
- Experience with Google Analytics 4 and conversion tracking
Nice-to-Have
- Experience in fintech, personal finance, or investment verticals
- Knowledge of programmatic SEO for large-scale IPO data pages
- Link building experience in Indian financial media landscape
- Basic HTML/CSS knowledge for implementing on-page optimizations
